the flower shop started life as the Kitchen Garden and was planted over 20 years ago by Elaine Taylor, mainly selling fruit and vegetables from its plot in the Clerkhill area of Peterhead town. After gaining Interflora membership in 1993 it blossomed to become solely a flower shop. The following year the shop moved to a more central site on the corner of Thistle Street to ensure it continued to flourish. From then on the Flower Shop bloomed, specializing in more modern designs. All floristry staff gained qualifications through college and Interflora events and were encouraged to keep up to date with the latest fashions and trends.
In 2003, Amy Buchan joined the Flower Shop beginning as the Saturday girl, cleaning buckets and sweeping floors. Having found her passion, she chose to gain qualifications at college and the Interflora Floristry Certificate and even went on to achieve first and second positions in national competitions. Amy, with all her experience, took over The Flower Shop when Elaine retired in 2008.
